Illustration and Animation

I have been an Illustrator and Animator for about two years in which time I have worked mainly in broadcast, new media and film as well as providing artwork for print in magazines and books.



A lot of my jobs with directors and musicians has been to provide a conceptual realization of there treatments. However what I offer is a comprehensive service from the initial sketches to characterizations, environments, storyboards, anima tics, animations all up to the final broadcast standard product. I tend to work closely with my clients throughout a project to try and get them as much involved with the processes as possible but also so I can get as much out of their direction and intention for a particular idea.

I like to feel it is much a team product rather than my own creative invention. However, what I do provide is a particular bold, linear style reminiscent of comics and cartoons heavy on iconography and painterly references. Its application because of my use of strong color and contrasts has seen it used for children’s illustration all the way to dark, noir based film conceptualizations. The medium is a mixture of pencil and digital drawing, photo collage, brought together in Photoshop and Painter. That’s not to say I’m not at all flexible I’m able to provide work to a brief and have worked on projects which demanded a more realist, technical style, including matte paintings and visual effects for film or graphic, logo orientated work for the web and print.



I’m happy to work on any size of project and in any particular capacity. I like to offer my clients flexibility as well as the resource of working from different fields.
